in the Port Washington State Bank Conference Room
200 North Franklin Street, Port Washington
(the former Wilson House – main street entrance)
Gallery 224 presented a talk by Dave Rambow, photographer and Site Director of the H.H. Bennet Studio in Wisconsin Dells. Working out of a portable darkroom, he took us back in time to the mid-1800s, and shared the history of a photographic process defined as a truly American invention – the tintype. The tintype has managed to survive the test of time and has seen an unexpected revival in recent years.
